Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Licensed Structural Engineer to join our Houston, TX office. This position provides a unique opportunity to leverage leadership skills, contribute to challenging projects, and advance career goals in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design structural components necessary for commercial and residential projects.
- Perform detailed structural calculations for wood, steel, and reinforced concrete elements including building slabs, spread footings, and retaining walls.
- Interpret and apply national codes and standards such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC to ensure compliance and safety.
- Stay up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and industry standards.
- Utilize effective methods and structural design techniques to develop practical and innovative solutions.
- Identify and resolve project-related issues and challenges efficiently.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and junior engineers.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to project designs and calculations.
Project Scope & Work Environment:
- The firm primarily focuses on Light Commercial and mostly Residential projects.
- Most of the work involves production and custom wood framing, crawl spaces, and concrete.
- The ideal candidate should have experience in these types of projects.
- The firm works closely with home builders, architects, and conducts home inspections on behalf of home builders.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on commercial and residential projects.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, AutoCAD, or Revit.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, load calculations, and material properties.
- Ability to create and review construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles as they relate to foundation design.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot engineering challenges effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Certificates & Licenses:

Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the State of Texas (required).
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
