About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who has worked in both startup and enterprise environments and is now ready to rejoin a nimble, fast-moving team where innovation, ownership, and empathy drive the work. You’ll collaborate with other senior engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across multiple time zones to develop, test, and maintain high-performance systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using Python and Ruby
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and maintainable systems
- Implement and optimize APIs, integrations, and backend logic for complex use cases
- Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure best engineering practices
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous learning within the team
- Participate in agile sprints, code reviews, and technical discussions
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and Ruby
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong portfolio of production systems
- Proven success in both startup and larger corporate environments
- Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, and cloud technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication skills and an empathetic, team-oriented approach
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Background
- Experience or education from top-tier universities such as MIT, Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, or other high-performing institutions
- Demonstrated contributions to open-source projects or early-stage startups
- Background in climate tech, sustainability, or environmental solutions is highly desirable
