Overview
Ling’s Wok Shop is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Assistant General Manager to help oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role is ideal for an experienced restaurant leader ready to take the next step toward a General Manager position. The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will support all aspects of operations, lead and develop team members, and help drive consistency, efficiency, and profitability across the restaurant.
We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality. A background in both front-of-house management and kitchen operations is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Support the General Manager in leading, training, and mentoring the restaurant team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
- Set clear expectations for staff performance, and provide consistent coaching and recognition.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance reviews.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations including shift management, food quality, cleanliness, and guest flow.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Help maintain accurate inventory levels and control costs related to food, beverage, and labor.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficiency and consistency in food preparation and service.
Guest Experience
- Lead by example to deliver an outstanding dining experience for every guest.
- Address guest concerns quickly and professionally to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
- Monitor online and in-person feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
Financial & Administrative Support
- Assist in managing budgets, cost controls, and sales initiatives to achieve financial goals.
- Support the General Manager in preparing reports, forecasts, and key performance metrics.
- Implement promotional activities and community engagement efforts to drive traffic and revenue.
Qualifications

2–3 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service environment required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of food and beverage operations; kitchen experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting.
- Proficient with POS systems and basic office software.
- High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment with varying noise, temperature, and lighting conditions.
- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
